Completed my ASA 214 catamaran instructor's certification on board a 42' Lagoon on the Chesapeake Bay.

I volunteered as an instructor at the USNA. I instructed midshipmen on how to sail on Navy 44s prior to their offshore leg on Block 3. I was an instructor on July 29, July 30, and July 31. I was also an evaluator for two Navy 44s on August 2 to clear them to go on their offshore passage. I also crewed in the USNA's Huntington Steele Regatta on November 4th.
Sailed on my sister's Precision 21 on the Shrewsbury River on July 11. Sailed on a 37' Beneteau on the Chesapeake Bay.
Sail Beyond Cancer Annapolis conducts three-hour private respite and memorial sails for cancer patients and their loved ones. I conducted respite sails on SBCA's 40' Beneteau on June 22, June 29, June 30, July 13, July 14, August 18, and September 13. I also conducted a memorial sail on September 13.
I went kayaking on Deep Creek and the Magothy River for durations ranging from one to 3.25 hours on June 18 (with my golden retriever), July 5, September 16, and October 12 and 20. I also went kayaking with my sister on July 10 for two hours on the Shrewsbury River in NJ.
I conducted additional Captain Screening sails for Sail Beyond Cancer Annapolis on their 40' Beneteau on June 17, August 22, and September 6.
Skippered Sail Beyond Cancer Annapolis' 40' Benneteau in the Cancer Cures, Crab Cup and Hospice Cup Regattas, on June15, August 17, and September 14, respectively. We placed first in our class in the Cancer Cures Regatta, and third in our class for podium honors in the Crab Cup.
Took Pleiades from Deep Creek to Gibson Island for repairs on June 10 and motored her back home on June 29. Went on five sails on the Chesapeake Bay on July 3, July 7, July 21, July 26 and August 14. Sails ranged from four to six hours in varying wind conditions. Nice to get out on the Bay!
Went on a two hour cruise on the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's (CBF) boat Margurite, to learn about their education programs and efforts to preserve the Bay.
After her launch in March, I took my NauticStar 24.3 on four trips around the Bay for lunch. On June 16 and October 21, we went from Deep Creek to Libby's and back; on June 23, we went to Eastport Yacht club and back, and on August 21, we went to Rock Hall and back. On October 3, I took family and the dogs for a cruise on the Magothy, and on November 24, we topped off the fuel tank in preparation for winterizing the engine.
