  • Just a perfect day to be on the water.
  • Looking out over the Potomac.
  • Cobb Island
  • Neale Sound Channel Light 2n
  • Crossing the Potomac to return home.

Just a perfect day for a sail with a nice, steady breeze from the east.  I left about 11:30 AM and the easterly wind pushed be cross the Potomac to Cobb Island, no tacking necessary.  I turned around at Neale Sound Channel Light 2n and sailed back completing the 15+ mile trek in about 4 ½ hours.  Perhaps my most memorable sailing day yet.  The trip brought back fond memories of the first time I went to Cobb Island via boat with my neighbor Keith back in 2017 on my first boat, a 2004 Key West 19CC.

  • Beautiful boat. I wasn't the only one who though it was a great day for a sail.

Nice afternoon sail out towards Monroe Bay.

Spent about 2 hours sailing around Mattox Creek.  Quirky wind.  From gusts over 10 mph to almost none.  Lots of fun.

  • My granddaughter Logan helping me at the helm.
  • When Logan wasn’t driving, she kept a close watch for pirate boats and sea monsters.

Perhaps the most memorable day on the water thus far this year.  My granddaughter Logan helped me drive the boat.
