Race on Bay Retriever. Today I learned that to blow a line mean to release it completely. Which can mean untieing a knot in the spinaker line or releasing a cleat

Docking lesson from Jason. I think I can actually take the boat in and out myself now!
When backing a boat in you steer it like a car.
While visiting friends in Lavallette they invited us to sail with them at their yacht club. I got out on a sunfish for the first tme and didn't capsize! I got it out and back to the beach on my own with one of the kiddos. Man they can move! Good reminder to switch to the high side when tackingvon those small boats.
I got to do mainsheet on BR today!! You lift it to snap it out when you're ready to use it.
What an amazing evening full of dance parties on the bow, epic sing-alongs, and fabulous new friends.

Kevin was super nice to let me sail with BR while HP is down. I leanered that on the J99 you want to keep your weight near the mast. You trim the jib in until it's just touching the shroud.
We sailed up to Herrington Harbour South for a week of Sailing camp . So glad that we did but I managed to exlode the impellor on the way over and spent the next week doing boat work and learning ALOT.
Double-handed the Miles River race on Happy Place with Mark. It was a bit of a challenge but I don't think we did terrible. Relearned a basic concept that when you're driving you drive away from the luffing telltales. Then stayed overnight and lead the cruise for the HHSA with a great turnout!
We didn't realize it but this turned out to be our last race on Happy Place for the season.
