A stormy and busy weekend had me wanting to stay in bed, promising myself that I would paddle tomorrow. But a check of the weather forecast threatened a small craft advisory for tomorrow, so I dragged myself out on the kayak. Worth the effort, as it is a beautiful morning with glassy calm water (all the better to see the tree limbs and logs lurking under the surface). An extended Crab Creek Crawl today, since I was curious about the new dock up one of the branches of the creek.

Rick's nephew and nephew's girlfriend came to town from Norfolk to sail, and for August, it sure delivered. Winds in the teens, waves to surf downwind -- it doesn't get better.
Talked myself in and out of taking a paddle this morning a dozen times. Then I reminded myself that weather this nice can't last for long, so I'd better take advantage.
Crab Creek Crawl today.
In the midst of a run of beautiful mornings; even sleeping with the window open. But the jellyfish have arrived in our neck of the water.
Paddled to Little Aberdeen Creek.
Not really. Actually a beautiful, cool, clear morning. Paddled to Shadow Point.
I've been derelict in my water activities. A sinus infection and Debby limited me. But got out tonight for a cruise to Glebe Bay (South River) to have a dinner on the hook.
Back on the 'yak, but staying in the creek.
From pleasant temperatures and swimmability at the beginning, to oppressive heat, marina nights, and jellyfish clogging the AC intake, that was our 9 days on the Bay. Beautiful sails, and sweaty slogs. Reed Creek, LIttle Queenstown, Still Pond, Fairlee, Kent Narrows, and St. Michaels. Glad to be home!
It's cooled off a bit, temporarily at least. Though I told myself I didn't have to go far (another sleepless night, dammit), I pushed myself to Shadow Point. A cool breeze helped.
