Got in a couple good downwind ones in tight quarters. Phew.

Spent a good couple of hours working on docking and then got a surprisingly great sail out past Dundalk and back. Then went out on Akimbo, fixed the bottom of the Genoa (bolt rope out of track) and had an awesome sail way out past the bridge. Came back downwind, did some wing on wing, and finished up around 10. The moon was very big and red when it came up.
Mostly showing off sails with corporate logo trying to get another set donated, but also did a couple POB's and some docking practice.
Did everything fine except docking, which at least wasn't horrible but was kind of embarrassing. Much lower wind right around the docks than I've practiced with, and was consistently under aiming for the slip and had less momentum so sliwly drifted (cross wind) a little too far. Bleh. Will practice more abs try again. So frustrated with myself because I knew what I was doing wrong and kept not fixing it.
Super duper hot, pretty low wind. But it did pick up enough to do some quick stop pob's at the end.
Got to try rc sailboats for the first time and they are so cool! Did a couple races. Was pretty terrible at it but the boats are very fun to play with.
Ran over to member sail just in time and had a good couple of hours with surpringly decent wind. Was SO FREAKING HOT though. Has to come in a bit early as skipper was burning up. Went to little Havana for townhall meeting after which seemed to go well. I think stuff seems to be going alright for the organization. Phew.
Rigged a j22 and waited for accessibility sailing people but not many came out so headed over to help fix the clutch cable connection on Akimbo and replace a hose down below. (9-2) Wind picked up a little and we got up to 4knts (briefly) with just the gib out on a short test spin. Engine works fine, much more water spitting out the back than before, and clutch moves pretty much ok. Shifting into forward still may break it again next year though.
Did a couple of downwind dock practices, a couple upwind, and some POB quick stops. Have a bad habit of turning too early (beam reach instead of close) so end up too close and fast at p/u. Going to try keeping a closer eye on the jib after blowing it after the jibe. Scott's tip is to watch it pointing at the pob for finding the close reach.
Clutch shifter failed at the pedestal just past Sparrows Point. Luckily it failed in/to forward (shortest cable span) so we took top off pedestal and found that the the cable clevis had failed at the threaded attatchment point. It had been under no particular strain or pressure when it sheared off so we think maybe it was age related or some latent defect. The cables for both the clutch and the throttle are bolted to the front of the pedestal but we didn't want to take the whole assembly apart (risking ability to stay in fwd or f/u steering chain) to hack something together so turned around and motored back to DSC and docked on the T-head. Such super low wind once there we were able to walk it around to the proper slip anyway. Bummer, but also crew was cool and skipper managed everything super well. Could have been loads worse.
Out and around Fr Carroll in Akimbo. Fished snapped out haul line back through with duct tape.
