Against a 1-foot chop and a freshening breeze, I paddled to the Breezy Point bulkhead and back. I added a throwable cushion between my back and the seat and it really helped. I came in as the sun was going down. It was a good evening workout.

We did not beat our competitors across the starting line, but we beat them at every mark. We sailed well as a team! The helmsman, the tactician, and the bow man all did a great a job. We sailed virtually mistake free and because of that we won! It was nice to look behind us see all those spinnakers chasing us. We had a starboard rounding at the bridge and then faced the fleet coming at us. We held off the competition on the final 2 legs to win. There were high fives all around afterwards. Probably our best Wednesday Night of the year.
I worked in the Poppa Bob’s Canvas shop until 7:30 and then went down and launched the kayak. The Bay was DFC ... dead flat calm and I made the most of the conditions. I paddled offshore further than ever and turned around just as the sun was going down behind the trees. I came home and enjoyed an outdoor shower!
We again hauled the anchor from the muddy bottom of what is becoming our favorite anchorage, Folks Cove 2. We tacked several times before again sailing under the bridge. We got down to 6A, realized we having battery issues on top of the fact that we were low on water and ice. We headed in, got tied up, cleaned the boat, and headed for home where Hollywood showers awaited us.
We pulled the hook Saturday morning and headed out into the river, in search of the forecasted SE wind. We found it just south of the bridge and headed south to the basin, tacked several times until we made it out into the Bay. We sailed to the shelf on the other side of the channel, came back and sailed back under the Solomons bridge and into Mill Creek and anchored in Folks Cove #2. Another GREAT day of June sailing was entered into the books!
We got underway a little after 10:00, hoping to find the easterly breeze that was forecast. We made it north past Sotterly and St. Leonard CK. but we never got the breeze. We motored back to Mill Creek and anchored in Folks Cove 1. We went swimming, and got cleaned up afterwards. Pork chops on the grill for dinner!
We got underway about 4:30, we found the breeze and sailed under the bridegroom, and to our anchorage in Mill Creek Bay. It was a great evening.
Paddled south from the kayak ramp to the flag pole at Breezy Point. It was a good challenging trip.
After 2 days of heavy wind, the winds moderated. I backed out at 1:00 and returned at 3:30. I sailed beside my new friends Tyler & Max on their new to them Catalina 27. This was their first sail on their boat and they did a great job! We sailed near each other and took turns taking pictures of each other. The wind was "fluky" but every sailboat out there made the most of it!
I went out again tonight, making the most of the Bay and the wind that had died down. I went out past the osprey nest, watched the ospreys defend their territory against a heron and then came back to the beach.
