Sunny and smooth as glass with a gentle ebb tide. The air temp at home was 35 but cbibs said 39 on the water. I added the #7 can to my route but ended up having to get out of the channel to let two YPs come back from the Chesapeake.

Also saw the pilot boat roaring out this morning.

Gray and smooth out there today. I had to alter my usual course to avoid the first YP coming out of David Taylor. I skipped the navy A buoy but went out to the 7 can before turning back to the HP marker. Bit of a flood tide but mostly held course.

Kinda wet but no wind. Finley was a stellar first mate.

Another beautiful day with a bit of sun, slack tide, and low wind. A few jellyfish but not much else in the way of critters.

  • UFO!

Slack tide, sun (ish), and 2kts of wind. I turned earlier than my usual buoy because A: the yps were signaling to exit their basin which is right next to said buoy and B: there was a strange black box floating off of Horn Point. That turned out to be part of one of those Lego-like floating docks.

Anyway I took some pictures today but they cannot compare to the experience of being out there.

Nice row with a fair bit of sun. Got on the water a little later than desirable so the wind had kicked up past 12k and there were three foot rollers coming from Kent Island. SOPHIE handled them without trouble.

Flat calm row again, this time with my first mate Finley. Heard at least one fish jump and saw a few jellyfish.

Flat as a board, clear to the river bottom, not a cloud in the sky, and no current. I saw about 500 black ducks as well. No jellyfish today because of the recent rain.

Really calm with a wicked flood tide. I ended up at a buoy 100 meters upstream of where I usually turn. Also the Severn is chock full of jellyfish. Just me and the pilot boat out there.
