  • Wild hibiscus?
  • Heron and swan
  • Heron
  • View towards Flounder Fjord.

Low 70s, no humidity, unheard of for August. Paddled across the creek and then into Flounder Fjord, saw several swans and herons. Actually got a pic of both together! Ventured a ways into a marsh trail I'd never been in before, lots of pretty pink purple flowers. They looked like hibiscus  but I don't know.

  • Catamaran spending the night I guess.
  • Sun on the water.

Thunderstorms the past several dsys have kept me from getting my days on the water. Today was actually kinda cool. Feels like Srptember. Afternoon paddle to see the eagles who were not in sight. There was a cool catamaran gunkholing in the creek.

  • Paddle boarder way behind, me in the kayak.
  • Sun on the water
  • My eagle

Didn't think we were going to make it out on the water today but Alan suggest it around 6. So off we went. I saw my eagle and we just paddled about the creek. Love long summer nights.

  • Leaving our dock. Note me holding on for dear life.
  • On the Potomac River. My knuckles are white.
  • Beaching them for lunch of pizza and beer at our house.

Friends April and Bub took Alan and me out jet skiing for several hours. Drove? Jetted? Boated? all the way to Rossier Creek and went way exploring the creek.  I'd only been on a jet ski once before for like 5 minutes. Had a lot of fun.

  • There I am, pic taken from the sailboat
  • First time I've noticed our new solar panels, installed 2 weeks ago.
  • Resident swans
  • Peaceful paddle
  • Alan on his boat

Paddled over to Flounder Fjord, saw swans and a heron. On the way back I spotted Alan returning from his sail so we took pics of each other. Absolutely a gorgeous afternoon.

  • Part of what looks like on an abandoned house / property. I have never seen anyone here. Looks like a guard house on the water
  • Calm nice day, less humid, mid 80s

After almost a week of grandkids everyone has gone and I had a leisurely paddle to the other side of the creek looking for the eagles.  They were a no show, I wonder if they're gone for the year.

  • Alan at the helm. I sailed some of the way.
  • There we are!
  • Fair winds ahead!

Went with Alan on his boat around the creek. Not  alot of wind but enough to get us from point A to B. Very nice day, low humidity, in the 80s.

Took each grandkid out on the kayak in afternoon. No camera. They played on the beach and water and all got stung by jellyfish. Sigh, august.

Number of days:
1 day
  • On floaty chairs just before we kayaked.
  • Friend Michelle took Logan out in the water to play. We had to watch out for jelly fish.

Took my grandaughter, who is visiting for 4 days out for a windy kayak. Hurricane Debby is bearing down on us and there was lots of wind and choppy waves. Thought there'd be storms and rain but they were a no show. Didn't bring my phone on the voyage so will show pics of our beach time just prior to getting out on the water.

  • My adult beverage, wasted on this trip
  • Got a pic of Alan on the sailboat before I went around the bend.
  • His precision sailboat

100 degrees out. I'd rather be in the water than on it. But, the flag on our dock was barely fluttering so I went out on the kayak with an adult beverage anticipating a leisurly watery happy hour, while Alan decided to go out for a sail. He headed east, I went north to go around Wirts Wharf and was accosted by northern winds stronger than I've ever encountered before. I paddled hard into the gale force winds to the other side of the creek while the waves were sending spray over and into the kayak! Really? The kayak? I made it to the other side of the creek but I couldn't even get a sip of my drink battling the wind and waves, white caps were everywhere, worse Ive ever seen while kayaking. .Couldn't even take a pic I was so busy trying not to die, keeping the kayak upright and avoiding the rocks along the shore.  Paddled back around the bend and then calm, flat water, mild breeze. Go figure. I do not understand wind. Now I'm on the deck drinking my well deserved adult beverage. I'm still sweating
