Sailed from Hampton yacht club for a Wednesday night keel boat race. No wind.
Century Club: Susan StGeorge
Captain Victor took us out for a sail in light winds.
No wind but had a great time.
The weather was just right!
No men allowed on the 5 boats who participated on the Patuxent River. Lost the attachment to the spin haliard on the first set which pretty much stopped the boat. Able to raise with the alternate haliard and we had a good run with the spinnaker. We just barely found moshed in time at the 5 th boat.
Sailed over to willoughby to participate in Thursday night race. Crossed the finish line first but there may be a correction.
Needed to practice for the ladies race on Saturday. So, I was on helm the entire race.
Started out pretty rough from Stingray point with winds up to 20 so we reefed the main. Hoped for the wind to turn more easterly so that we could tac just once. That didn't happen. Winds fell off, shook out the main and then had to motor for awhile. Switched out the #3 for the #1 sail. Had beautiful wind finishing up the bay and sailing into the Patuxent for a spectacular sunset.
Managed a third place for the weekend in class B.
