Took out Whirlaway for training with new crew. The clew of the boom broke making the main sail in danger of flying free. Had to take the sails down before things got ugly.
Sailed on Whirlaway with mostly new crew in light winds. It was a good training session. I was at the helm the entire time for the first time.
Crossed StGeorge Creek, walked on the beach and kayaked back.

Kayaked across St George Creek to Cherryfield Point. Took advantage of the beautiful beach for a short walk and sunbathing.
Just missed the sun going down. Darn!
Joined our captain, Frank Walter, and crew for our first time out racin on Whirlaway. We had the spin flying.
It was a beautiful day to kayak 1.5 miles across St George Creel. Saw a pair of bald eagles and found a piece of blue sea glass.
The start of our regular Wednesday night keel boat races has begun. We placed third in c class with spinnaker.
