The wind died this day, so we mostly motored to St. Clements Island and took a walking tour around the island. Afterward, we sailed up Breyton Bay to anchor in the cove past Protestant Point. Beautiful anchorage.

We had a nice day of sailing north from Reedville (Cockrell Creek), out into the bay, around Smith Point and over to the Coan River. We anchored in the Glebe area. Nice anchorage, but the chain came up really muddy.
Sailed over to Reedville, VA to anchor in a branch off Cockrell Creek. Watched the fireworks presented at Reedville.
Spent 2 days at Cape Charles for the 4th of July celebration.
We returned to our homeport on Sunday after a weeklong cruise around the southern bay. We tried our cruising spinnaker for the first time this year, but the wind did not last. We had to motor our way home. Either way, it was a beautiful day on the water.
We sailed from the Severn River (Mobjack Bay) to meet friends at anchor in the Poquoson River. The river is beautiful and normally quite quiet, but on weekends in the summer, a sand bar at low tide attracts many boaters and partiers. This is not a problem except for the level of traffic. If you want solitude, don't go here on summer weekends.
We had to turn south from Little Bay and were able to sail across the mouth of the Rappahanock River with a nice west wind, but once south of Rappahanock the wind died and turn southerly. Motored on to the Severn River which branch out of Mobjack Bay. Beautiful setting.
Sailed out of the Rappahanock with shifting winds. We tacked our way north up the Bay until we wore out. The wind was backing against us. Finally powered into Little Bay of Fleets Bay for the last 4 miles.
We motored up the western branch of the Corrotoman, then hoisted sails to sail from the top to the bottom of the Corrotoman. We turned East in the Rappahanock and had a wonderful sail to Broad Creek, where we met friends at Regatta Point Yacht Center. Great sailing day.
Stayed on anchor for a day and took the dinghy out to e poorest the river and its creeks, especially Bell's Creek. Amazing what you find back up the creeks. The entire area has high elevations.
