With snow in the forecast we planned to haul the Key West on Saturday, Jan 4th. When we delivered the trailer we did discovered we had to postpone until the following day. But Saturday was a good faith intention, tides did not cooperate.
Jeff and I took an afternoon harbor cruise on the Key West to complete my 100 days. It was a sunny but windy ride but it was great to see all the people downtown enjoying the holidays. Yay! 100 days in 2024.
Nov 17- RC duty
Nov 24- rusty!
Dec 1- OCS first race, won three races then won the day!
Dec 8- one race, the wind died but warm and sunny!
Dec 15- chilly and light. 2nd place overall
We had to pull Terrapin out of the slip to fuel up the diesel tank for the winter. So we took a lunch break harbor cruise as her last hurrah of the season. Time to break out the anti-freeze!
We blew up our dinghy and took her on one last voyage for 2024. We had a nice cruise to spectate the ILCA Fall Series and went to lunch at Beacon Restuarant. After that we washed and dried the boat and folded her up for the winter. Until next season, Spider!
We took Terrapin for our annual fall weekend cruise to Oxford. It was a long motor (no wind) on Friday. Saturday a strong cold front came though so we stayed put at anchor and explored town. We sailed home on Sunday. (Well we motored part of the way...). A great last voyage for Terrpain in 2024.
We got an offer to use a slip in our neighborhood for the remainder of the season and jumped on it! We ran the Key West from Solomons to Annapolis on a flat Sunday. Hope to do some fishing this fall!
1) Oct 20- Solomons to Annapolis
2) Oct 26- sunset booze cruise
3) Nov 20- fishing
4) Dec 7- Harbor cruise
We had a fun pilgrimage to my favorite Laser regatta on the bay! This year we stayed in an old farmhouse Airbnb instead of camping. As always, it was a great time with great friends. We had 4 races in building breeze on Saturday, sadly the wind never appeared on Sunday. But I was ready to go! I won top overall female and second Master. I can't wait to go again next year!
We finally got Terrapin out for a long cruise! We headed south out of Solomon and spent three nights at anchor in Great Wicomico, Little Bay Antipoison Creek and East River/Mobjack Bay. Then we headed across the bay to Cape Charles for three nights were we dined, golfed and explored in our rental golf cart. After several nights of fine dining we headed north to anchor in Onancock Creek followed by two nights visiting my parents in Crisfield. Overall a great cruise!
