We took advantage of some gorgeous weekend weather and played with our dinghy in Annapolis before packing her up for the winter. Friday we launched at SSA and took a Spa Creek cruise, stopping for lunch downtown. Saturday we cruised her from our community pier on Back Creek back to SSA to walk over to Tugfest. After a fun party we cruised home. Sunday we returned to Spa Creek, stopped at Mangia's for a slice and then back to SSA to wash and fold up our dinghy for the winter. What a gorgeous weekend!

We love a late October trip to Oxford because the town is gorgeous with the fall colors and well decorated for Halloween. We even had a ghost encounter on our dark spooky walk to dinner at Pope's Tavern. The motor-sail north was blustery but our motor home Sunday was a piece of cake. And we celebrated our 2022 Century with some champagne and a rockfish dinner! Here's to 101 and counting!
It is a chilly, cloudy late October afternoon. A perfect day for checking out the foliage on the Patuxent River and fishing! We caught one beautiful 24 inch rockfish. Almost there!
It was a fun regatta weekend at Severn Sailing Association. Saturday was a painfully light and lumpy day but I lucked out finding the only wind on the race course and won the first race. Saturday evening we had a fabulous crab feast and Sunday the wind was much better. We sailed a total of five races and I placed second overall in the ILCA 6 fleet. Almost there!
I had to work on Saturday but we snuck out in the evening for some sunset fishing. We caught one bluefish and three Spanish. Sunday we tried fishing in the bay but conditions were a bit rough. We did manage to catch one Spanish in the river. We also caught a glimpse of the Solomons workboat docking competition!
We had an amazing cruise on Terrapin this year. We headed south from Solomon's for several nights at anchor in Mobjack Bay before crossing the bay to Cape Charles. Cape Charles is always a highlight of the trip as we love the town and the brewery. We caught many Spanish Mackerel and Jeff finally caught his cobia! So we always had fresh fish for dinner. We stopped also in Gwynns Island and our favorite anchorage in Little Bay/Windmill Point. Lots of fun dinghy rides and beach adventures. Not much sailing as the winds were light while we were in transit. We finished off our trip with a visit to Crisfield to see my parents. We arrived during the watermens boat docking competition and enjoyed the Hard Crab Derby fireworks that evening. Winds piped up on Labor Day so we finally had a great sail on our way home to Solomons. It was a memorable adventure for sure and we are looking forward to next year!
Well, it was mine at least since we are off on vacation next week. It was a fun night with a HUGE turnout of sailors. Certainly made for exciting and crowded conditions on the race course. Guess summer is almost over!
We had a great Friday afternoon/evening sail on Terrapin to Little Choptank. It was perfect! 15-20 knots downwind sailing at 7-8 Kts. We caught a couple of gorgeous Spanish Mackerel and enjoyed two lovely nights anchored out in Hudson Creek. We headed back on Sunday after a fun dinghy cruise. Looking forward to going south next week!
It was a light air evening but the weather was gorgeous and we had a ton of boats in the water.
We spent an abbreviated weekend at Spring Cove and played on our little Key West. Saturday evening we had a lovely cruise up the river to join the SMSA raft up for a drink. We caught a lovely sunset on the ride home. Sunday was a great, flat powerboat day so we headed out in search of fish!
