It was another Tuesday evening which means dinghy racing in Annapolis. It was very hot with barely enough wind to overcome them strong ebb current but we made it around the course a few times. Great photos taken of me by the RC!

We hauled Spanish Mackerel south to Ware River Yacht Club for their annual regatta. We had six very competitive Bucanneer crews that battled it out over two hot and breezy days. Our practice sail on Friday was. It short by thunderstorms but weather was clear the rest of the weekend. We finished third overall so we came home with some hardware. Always a fun time hanging out with the Bucanneer fleet. Aarrggh!
We practiced on Tuesday evening on Spanish Mackerel! It was a fun night of sailing with much needed practice around the bouys. Getting ready for VA Gov this weekend!

We fetched our Buccaneer 18 from my parents yard, cleaned her up and rigged for the AYC Two Bridge Fiasco! Saturday we put up the mast and took a practice shakedown sail. Sunday we raced in the Fiasco heading to the Bay Bridge first then up the river. We placed 3rd in our class and had a blast. I hope to do it again next years
The forecast for wind was bleak but Jeff and I rigged our Lasers and headed out for TESOD anyway. We had a couple of ok light races. It was overcast and a bit cooler day than the last week. Not the best racing but I counts as a day on the water.
Finally feeling a bit better, we took the boards out for a paddle on back creek on Sunday. It was hot and a bit breezy but it felt cooler on the water.
Sadly the COVID finally caught up with me:(. After exposure on Weds I developed cold symptoms on Friday and tested positive. But I figured I could rest up just as well on the boat so we took off for the Little Choptank again. The Spanish Mackerel have arrived and we caught 5 nice ones on Saturday that fed us all weekend. We enjoyed two quiet nights on the hook in Hudson Creek before a motor sail back on Monday.
We had a great sunset fishing ride on Friday. The sunset was spectacular even if the fishing was not. Only a couple small bluefish that we threw back. A nice evening on the water.
We had a great trip to Swanton MD to stay work our friends Trevor and Liz and race my ILCA at the Deep Creek Yacht Club at Turkey Neck. It is a beautiful drive and always much cooler in the mountains. The sailing was challenging, light and shifty as always. But the lake and club are beautiful and it is always worth the drive.
