We had a late start to the weekend due to work, but we still managed to get underway Saturday evening for a couple of nights at anchor in the Little Choptank.  Saturday evening we made crab cakes for dinner under sail! We enjoyed a relaxing Sunday morning and a great Sunday day sail.  For Sunday night we anchored further up the river amongst the hunting lodges, farms and so much natural shoreline that we thought we were transported back in time.  We had an awesome sunset dinghy adventure and look forward to returning to this awesome spot for some fishing!  Monday we had a sporty sail home and took our Key West out for the Solomons fireworks.  It was a great holiday weekend.

We returned to Solomons for the weekend and make a couple of trips out on the Key West attempting to fish. No fish were caught but it was a beautiful weekend to be in the water!  Sunday we crossed the bay to the Little Choptank for lunch and discovered Palm Beach Willie's was closed (floating restaurant sank this winter) so we wandered up the river and ate at Maryland Blue.  Food and drinks were great!  The southerly kept building all afternoon so the ride back was slow, wet ans bumpy but we made it home.

It took me a while to re-rig my boat since I took all my lines to Mexico so I was late to the racing.  I missed the breeziest conditions by it was still a great night to be on the water.  Plus we had live music at SSA and a beautiful sunset.

We spent the morning of our lay day from the regatta on a fishing by charter.  We picked up some bait and caught loads of small dorado.  What beautiful fish.  It was a fun time!

I traveled to Puerto Vallarta for the ILCA 6 Masters World Championship.  We had one practice day and six days of racing.  The wind and waves were epic and the competition was fierce.  I spent most races towards the back of the back of the fleet but I did have one awesome mid-fleet finish.  It was a fantastic regatta and resort vacation wrapped into one.

We spent two weekend days bottom fishing for blue catfish.  Unfortunately the fishing was slow and we only caught two channel catfish.  But at least we had a nice fish fry in Sunday evening!

It was a hot day and the AC in our house was broken so we decided to beat the heat by getting out on the water.  We enjoyed and lovely paddle watching my the WNRacers motor home.  Nice evening to be on the water.

The winds were light but it was still a fun evening on the water.  We also enjoyed some awesome margaritas and tacos from our new SSS Snack Bar vendors!  Taco Tuesdays are back!  And of course the best sunset in Annapolis.

We splashed Terrapin after a week on land for a quick bottom job.  Just in time for a fun weekend cruise!  Saturday we motored up the bay from Solomons to the West River.  The wind was light and on the nose for most of the day but we managed to sail a bit for the last hour or so.  We joined the Sailing Club of the Chesapeake for their BBQ dinner and got to catch up with Drew and MA on their new trawler.  Sunday motored across the bay through Knapps Narrows to Harris Creek on the Choptank.  The westErin enterance into the narrows is still as sketchy for sailboats and we ran aground right by the red mark.  Thankfully the Towboat man was standing by to coach us on our back off and adjusting our approach.  After that it was a smooth passage.  Harris Creek is a freak anchorage and there is a county public landing where you can tie off your dinghy and walk to Lowe's Wharrf beach bar.  Good to know!  Sunday we motored again towards Solomons (upwind of course!) but we put our sails up at the fuel dock and enjoyed a sporty sail into the Patuxent.  A fun shakedown cruise for this season.
