#97 and #98... #97 was difficult as I had already been to cardio rehab that morning. #98 was a good, tough, honest paddling trip to the Breezy Point inlet.
Century Club: Bob Ohler
My strength and stamina are improving. This was longest kayak run since my medical issues this summer.
I'm gonna make the Century Club!
#95 This was a good, tough upper-body workout into a breeze and a slight chop. I paddled to the first dock that juts out into the Bay at Breezy Point.
#94 On a perfect day for this crew, we sailed tge Pax River Basin, looking for wind and taking what Mother Nature gave us, including a 120 degree wind shift.
#93 On a day that discipline trumped enthusiasm, I paddled into a freshening breeze and chop down, almost to Breezy Point. I was feeling the burn in my arms!
#92 On a flat calm Bay, I got a longer run today... to the Breezy Point property line. I'm working on rebuilding my strength and stamina.
#91 ... For the first time since my heart work, I got back out on the kayak. I quickly realized how much upper body strength and stamina I had lost in just a few months. That's OK. I'm back out there and I'll re-strengthen both.
#90 - Some days the wind blows 3 and some days it blows 30. Today, it blew 3. The good news is the Annual Chili Cook-off was at the club following the race!
#89 The wind held up for most of the day as we close reached to Hoopers, beam reached with spin to Point No Point, and then beat back up the Bay, around PR1, and then crossed the finished at PR3. Good crew of 5 handled the boat well. 44 nm, avg speed 5.2 knots.
#88 This was probably the coldest October sailing I have ever done! With a crew of 6, with me on main trim, we sailed out into the Bay, made the turn, and headed home in the dark. Did I say it was cold? It was!
