In light of the forecast, decided to take an early morning paddle on Cattail Creek. 76F, cloudy, with winds 5 mph from the ENE at time of launch (6:30 am). Great Blue Heron flew off before I could snap of picture.

Back home, took the paddle board out on Cattail Creek before sunset. 86F, partly cloudy with winds 4 mph from the SSE, at time of launch (7:30 pm).
Took the paddle board out on Assawoman canal this morning while my wife walked the dog along the trail. 78F, mostly cloudy, with winds 11 mph from the S at time of launch (8:25 am).
Took the Hobie Wave out for the morning. 80F, fair, with winds 8 mph from the SSE at time of launch (10:30am). Saw a couple of dolphin swimming around but by the time we got the phone back out they decided to stay below the surface.
Slept in a bit then took the paddle board out around 8:20 am. 76F, partly cloudy with winds 3 mph from the ENE. Proceeded south on Assawoman canal past Bethany Beach canal, under the Garfield Parkway bridge then past the pond by Turtle Walk community toward Sea Colony. Nice day for a paddle due to no wind and very little current.
Opted for another early morning paddle on the Assawoman canal. 73F, hazy, with winds 1 mph from the NNE at time of launch (6:45am). I got to see my friend the Great Blue Heron in his normal spot. Great morning, good routine, time with nature. Even got to see a blue crab in the shallows as I launched the paddle board.
Took the paddle board out early based on the forecast for a steamy day. 77F, mostly cloudy, with winds 8 mph from the SSW at time of launch (6:30 am). Paddled past my friend the Great Blue Heron and headed up Bethany Beach canal. Got back just in time for a quick down pour.
With the forecast looking like hot and muggy today, took the paddle board out in the morning. 80F, sunny, with winds 8 mph from the SSW at time of launch (8:00 am). Only saw one heron but still got a nice work out.
Decided to take the paddle board out early before the day's festivities began. 70F, sunny, with winds 7 mph from the S at time of launch (6:05 am). Saw a total of 5 Great Blue herons. Two appeared to be mating - swaying back and forth. Paddled on Assawoman canal up to Central Avenue bridge and back - nice morning workout.
Took the paddle board out for an afternoon paddle on Assawoman canal. 78F, sunny, with winds 11 mph from the SE. Decent current to contend with. Very nice temps for July and the canal is always shaded.
