Great day on the North Atlantic Ocean, that is until the wind shifted to the NE and it got cold and snotty. Got some tow training in with the new MAR6.

Another beautiful day. More daylight and warmer days are here. Also, love is in the air.
Like butter on the water today. Not a lot of traffic, so created a nav course up the York River to York River Yacht Haven and out to the CH Buoy. Super low tides this a.m. so I got some piles scraped so mother nature's razor don't damage the boats.
Taste of spring...gonna be a great boating season.
What a glorious day. Got to.splash the units newest boat and take her out for her maiden voyage before dropping her off at the yard for bottom paint.
Another SAR Forum down. Changed it up a little this year. Instead of attending as a participant, I was staff. I was the safety officer for the forum. Got to see the forum from a different perspective and was able to ride on other agencies vessels as well as Maryland Pilots and several tugs, including Hampton Roads newest tractor tug. Looking forward to participating as staff in 2026.
Got underway today before the pending Armageddon. Heard the fuel docks will be shut down for the storm, so wanted to be sure the tanks were topped off. Patrolled for several hours without another boat in sight.
Only got 1 pic because 187 started taking on water and had to do an emergency pull. Turns out there were two small corrosion holes in the transom. The garage is welding it up. The new 187 can't be built fast enough. Included a pic of Rudder from early morning walk.
Got to go tugboating today. Don't get too excited, it's an actual workboat, not a boat where you get a happy ending.
Lonely day on the water, like most of winter. Had to put a new decal on the BBSA buoy and saw that Thimble Shoals Light is still representing.
