In a race day that had been predicted to be light air we ended up with great winds in the 8 to 12 range. Came in 2nd in the ORC Cruising Spin Fleet and 35 of 44 boats. SIngle-handed spinnaker is a lot of work in a 17nm course!

Raced for Willoughby Bay Racerswith foredeck Patrick in Bold Mariner Race against the Little Creek Racing Fleet of BBSA. We were second in Black fleet so with Oh SHeet took 1-2 in our fleet. Willoughby Racers took back the Cup after losing to Lttle Creek Racers for four years running!
If you have to motor due to light wind it's nice when the water is also flat calm. Not quite able to catch the tide south out of Deltaville but did get about a two hour assist, and made the HRBT just as the tide was turning, so a good 5kt day. 40 nm in 8 hours made the Fall trip about 380nm at an average speed over ground of 4.5kts.
Motored to Deltaville fuel dock to fill up with fuel and fresh water.
Left the raft up with Valinor with 9 Pax to go to Pirate Cove for brunch. After return and more fun aboard Valinor, they cast off to head to South River and their home. At 1630 I got underway to head south and skipped Solomons along the way to spend a couple of days in Deltaville instead. 18 hours of motoring and about two hours of sailing along the way. Full moon kept me company throughout the night and into the morning. Arrived at Jackson Creek at 093, anchored by 1030.
Sailed with friends on Valinor from Harness Creek off South River to moored alongside Valinor in anchage off the West River. Joined by their friends in a three boat raft up for the weekend.
Rowed ashore to jog around the park. Nice dinghy landing at SUP dock. Available up to 10ft. No overnight stays. Within minutes of park visiters center. Main trails are paved for stollers, but a number of trails off the main.
A sunny day in the 70's finally! Rowed from anchorage and went ashore at the dinghy dock to explore the state park. May go in again tomorrow for a jog around the trails there.
Sailed from Rock Hall Landing to South River in winds gusting to 35, made 7.4kts good to Thomas Light, then slowed coming upriver to Harness Creek. Rain then fog as we crossed under the Bay Bridge and turned for Thomas Light. ANchored in 8ft of water near Harness Creek Park, just past the dinghy dock.
With a pre-dawn underway tried to beat the wind increase before 0800. Just made Love Point and was 4 nm south of Swan point, the desired heading. So an extra hour to get over here but now safely tucked in for the gale coming through tonight. Very glad I secured the dinghy rolled up to the foredeck and didn't try towing it!
