Wonderful south wind of 10-13 knots; went out solo and had a spirited upwind, hitting 5.3 knots as the apparent wind hit 17-18. Rounded mark C and then went downwind, also making it to 5 knots, which was pretty good w the Genoa.

Finally disentangled from work, and took Lark out of a 2 hour ride. 10-12 knots apparent for most of the evening, which allowed me to get up to 5 knots upwind and 4 knots downwind, using the genoa. A beautiful night!
Needed to install another bumper on my 3 month old dock, and doing so required being able to reach 4 feet below the deck. Got to use our 21' SeaRay as a work platform. Took some time to get it lined up right with various docklines, but eventually got it in place, drilled the holes and used the socket set I've had since college to attach the bumper. Then put two more cleats in on the other side of the dock. Then went for a joy ride.
Back to all four crew, and was able to do some good upwind practice off the line ahead of the start. Better start than sometimes, from V to B, and then downwind from B to V. Spin ran ok, except at the dowse we lost some time, which hurts us on the upwind. Came in 6th out of 11. Not in the upper half....
10-15 knots from the South kept me within Valentine Creek, but going out at 7pm is a great way to not see any other boat traffic out and just commune with nautical nature, which is what I did.
Had a delightful ride around the Valentine Creek and Plum Creek neighborhoods before heading down to Smith's Marina for 22 gallons of gas (in our 45 gallon tank), the first I've filled up since last fall.
Expected to have lots of wind, and with one crew not able to make it, found a back-up, since we were sure we needed more bodies. Turned out to be a light wind night, with 3 down and 1 up most of the evening. Did ok, not spectacularly but not badly. 5th out of 12.
Nothing like getting off of 3.5 hours on Amtrak and driving home and spending a nice quiet hour on a kayak on Valentine Creek!
