In preparation for our sailing cruise next week, we blew up the old dinghy and took her for a spin around the creek. She still floats! Sunday we scrubbed the cruising boat and finished some projects to get ready for next week but took another evening dinghy cruise to get our day on the water!

It was a hot Tuesday in Annapolis so the evening had threatening storms. We launched but midway through the second race the storm clouds moved in. So it was a short evening of sailing, but despite the storms we got a beautiful sunset!
Taking advantage of a beautiful morning by grabbing by board and paddling for today's work out. Seven minutes from my driveway to launch!
It was a beautiful day for another distance race on Spanish Mackerel. The pursuit start race from SSA up the Severn River and back was especially challenging with fluky wind and loads of powerboat chop. But it was a fun day on the water!
Sadly with our wedding in May and moving into a new house in June we have had very little time to spend with our cruising boat, Terrapin. This weekend she got a much needed short-haul so we could scrape off ten months of barnacles and get her back on the move. Our afternoon day sail turned into an overnight in the Honga River after we caught enough Spanish Mackerel trolling under sail to make a tasty dinner. Yay for Terrapin's grand return to the bay!
For the first time since moving to Eastport we were able to get our paddleboards out on the water. We used our cool new cart to walk them down to the kayak launch in our community. It was a beautiful evening for a paddle on Back Creek!
There wasn't any wind when we arrived and the club but around 6:15 the breeze filled in and we quickly rigged to get in some TESOD racing. It was a light evening but fun racing and great to get out on the water! To top it off we had a fabulous Annapolis sunset. Just another summer Tuesday in Annapolis!
We brought our Buccaneer 18, Spanish Mackerel, to SSA to race AYC's Two Bridge Fiasco. We rigged her on Saturday afternoon and took a leisurely practice/cocktail sail around the Severn River. Sunday started too blustery and choppy for our little Spanish so we skipped the race ans opted to explore the creeks under sail. Later when the breeze laid down we threw in a few practice gybes. Maybe next year! Still a fun weekend on the water.
I finally managed to get a Wednesday evening off work and out on J/105 Blizzard to find a bunch of discouraged Wednesday night racers with no breeze. Although the racing was called off there was just enough breeze for a slow practice sail on a hot evening.
Another fun Tuesday night of sailing at SSA. The breeze was up and down but the comradarie was awesome as always and the sunset was amazing!
