After Parklawn Sailing Association's maintenance day, we took out "Glissade," the newest memer of our fleet, for a few hours. Several members were skipper-qualified on the new boat.
Century Club: Cynthia "Cynde" Nordone
PSA member Mike Troiano and I motored s/v "Vivace" to Herrington Harbour North, where it will undergo repairs by Osprey Marine.
Weather conditions were overcast and rainy, but fellow Parklawn Sailing Association members and I had a great day sail on "Vivace."
Skippered PSA's Goman Express '30 "Vivace" for the final race of the PCRC fall series. The race also was the final one for "Vivace" as we transition to our new racer cruiser, "Glissade."
Spent the day training on "Glissade," the newest vessel in Parklawn Sailing Association's fleet. "Glissade" is a 2000 J/32.
With good winds from the east to start, my crew and I enjoyed a couple of hours of good sailing. Then, the winds died, and we thought our day sail was over. But the winds picked up again, and we enjoyed aother two to three hours of sailing.
With friends for 5 days on Parklawn Sailing Association's "Summer Sun," a 2000 Catalina Mk II '34. For this trip, we headed to the Choptank R. and enjoyed anchoring out in Duns Cove, Snug Harbor (Tred Avon R.) and Sawmill Creek off La Trappe Cr. We also spent an overnight in Oxford and enjoyed our visit to town. First stop was the ice cream parlor. Another highlight was touring the Cutts and Case Yachts facilities.
I, along with PSA's training officer and other training and racing skippers and the former owner, put "Glissade," a 2000 J/32, through its paces. We are going to enjoy sailing and racing this boat.
A sailing friend and I spent several hours sailing on a Flying Scot out of Belle Haven Marina. I am always struck by how pleasant it is to sail that portion of the Potomac R.
Crewed on Parklawn Sailing Association's "Vivace". Winds were light and then they died. We retired.
