Skippered a club sail on "Glissade" and celebrated Day 100 with several sailing friends.  It was sunny but cold.  Good winds that subsided as we were making our way home up the West River.

Skippered a day sail for friends on Parklawn's "Pisces".  It was another beautiful autumn day on the water, and sailing proved to be just the right balm for my spirit.

Skippered a club sail on Parklawn's J/32, "Glissade".  A great crew, lots of wind and a stop in Annapolis for ice cream made for a fine day of sailing.

It was another learning event for Parklawn Sailing Association's Team "Glissade".  I did foredeck first the first time on this boat, and our spninnaker launch was a royal mess.  We had fun though, and it was another beautiful day on the water.

After a productive maintenance day that included cleaning all interior boat cushions as well as completing the annual hose inspections, a group of Parklawn Sailing Association members spent the late afternoon hours sailing on Pisces.  The changing colors of the trees on shore were beautiful!  Wind was exceptional, too.

It was a beautiful race afternoon with almost no wind when we needed it.  We abandoned the race and headed to where there was wind and we practiced spin sets and douses.  I enjoyed driving "Glissade."

Bosun Bill Levitan and I took out Parklawn Sailing Association's "Pisces" to test the rebuilt transmission and new shifting cable.  The transmission worked as it should.  Many thanks to Maryland Transmission and HT at Galesville Harbor Yacht Yard.

  • The evening sky from our anchorage near Emery Creek.

Enjoyed three days on "Summer Sun" with a couple of friends.  With a southerly wind helping us, we headed north from Galesville to the Corsica R., where we anchored on the first night in the bight between Town Pt. and Middle Quarter Cove.  The winds were blowing hard and right up the river on day two, causing us to abandon plans to go to Rock Hall.  Instead, we poked around to find an anchorage with better protection from the westerly winds.  We finally settled on an anchorage close to the mouth of Emery Creek, which was indeed a quiet, out of the way spot.  Day two was spent relaxing and listening to the wind. On day. three, the winds shifted to the north and aided us in our return trip to Galesville.

On this trip, PSA and SCOW friends and I headed down bay to the Choptank R. from the West R.  After transiting Knapp's Narrows, we made our way up Harris Cr. to a cove on the left between Briary Cove and Cummings Cr. for our first night's anchorage.  The second night was spent in Caulk Cove off Leadenham Cr.  We spent night three at DiMillo's in Oxford.  On day four, we made our way up to Cambridge for a brief stopover to check out the town as I had never been, and anchored in La Trappe Cr. just inside Martin Point.  Winds were great all week except for the return trip to Galesville.  It was a most pleasant early fall outing.

PSA raced "Glissade" in this first frostbite race.  It was a learning experience.  Our friends on "Nemesis" took this shot of us before the start.
